Future Dates For Teacher Workshops

With retirement comes change and Janice has made changes.  Special events will be held at Dry Creek Pottery with teacher workshops, raku firings, tours of the working studio and the gallery will be open more hours for drop-ins.  Guests can tour the gallery, make purchases of pottery, and on specific days, view or participate in a raku firing.  The lesson plan books are available to view and purchase, and questions may be asked in relation to the guest's needs.  At given times, the guest may see Janice throwing on her 46-year-old electric Randal potter's wheel, using a nine foot tall air-compressed clay extruder, or making slabs from an eight foot long electric slab roller.  Take a walk out to the kiln barn across the bridge, and you may see clay being mixed or pugged, or the 32 cubic foot gas kiln being fired in a reduction atmosphere.  On a smaller scale, you may notice an electric kiln or two being fired.  Raku firings are done on the side of the large kiln barn out of the weather, and can accommodate small and large pieces being finished in a four by eight foot sand pit along with garbage cans.  Please contact the artist for more information regarding the facilities, tours, or other requests relating to the workshop.
